Juno Exits Safe Mode, Main Engine Valve Issue Still Unresolved

โ€œJuno exited safe mode as expected, is healthy and is responding to all our commands,โ€ said Rick Nybakken, Juno project manager from NASAโ€™s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. โ€œWe anticipate we will be turning on the instruments in early November to get ready for our December flyby.โ€

The mission status report says, โ€œThe team is still investigating the cause of the reboot and assessing two main engine check valves.โ€ and gives no other update on the delayed orbit-lowering maneuver. The lack of information on that front is a little worrying, to say the least.
