SpaceX to Move Post-Recovery Operations to Port Canaveral
Dave Berman and James Dean for Florida Today:
SpaceX is moving some of its operations to Port Canaveral, port Chief Executive Officer John Murray said today.
The space launch company plans to lease the now-vacant former Spacehab building on the north side of the port, as well as construct a second building adjacent to that site, Murray told port commissioners.
SpaceX has been in need of room to work on recovered boosters since running out of space in their hangar at Pad 39A months ago. More importantly, they need that hangar to support launches from 39A in the next year.
Good snag by SpaceX, and this is yet another sign of progress towards a few things: core reuse, Falcon Heavy, and crewed Dragon 2 flights from 39A.
